Mobile phones and laptop are becoming more powerful and people are becoming increasingly reliant on them. However, most of the mobile phones and laptop come with a very poor battery life. Such as, li-ion batteries used for mobile phones and laptops are consumable products. Due to the chemical properties of Lithium ions, the battery capacity will decrease by use over time, the user's environment and behavior. Therefore, consumer may experience that the battery life is not as expected, but that is a normal occurrence. Besides that, not everyone carries portable power banks with themselves at all times and thus can often be left with no battery. Therefore, the RFID charging system based Raspberry Pi have been proposed can control the charging time, voltage and current during process of charging mobile phone and laptop applications. The RFID module is as a payment method and also user of this system will be limited to 5 users. When the user swipes the card above the RFID reader and select the voltage needed, LCD display will show the voltage, current and charging time and then start to charging phone or laptop. This system will limit the charging time to each user with 5 minutes and the LCD display showing the actual time left. This system will cut off the current automatically which is in fully charged. The simulation and experiment proved that mobile phone and laptop charging output voltage is within 5 V to 20 V, respectively. Moreover, output current estimated in the range 0.5 A to 5 A.
