Wound plaster on the market in general still use synthetic materials, so they can cause hypersensitivity reactions in wound. Therefore, the purpose of this project is to create an organic dressing plaster that made from organic remedies and not-toxic. The hypothesis is this project is Betel Leaf (Piper betle) and Aloe vera can healing wound and reduce skin inflammation and itching of the skin. This is because the Piper betle and Aloe vera has properties as natural antiseptics, antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory .The Piper betle and Aloe vera extract will be mix together and put into gauze dressing pad and transparent plaster. The best formulation for this organic plaster in healing wound is Piper Betle : Aloe Vera ; (2:1). A test also has been conducted to determine the effectiveness of Piper betle and Aloe vera as a natural PVA (Polyvinyl Alcohol) / chitosan hyrogel wound plaster in ihibits the growth of general bacteria on the surface of skin such as Staphylococcus Aureus. It has been conducted on 5 wound pupils. For each pupil, the duration of time to recovery was recorded using this product. The result shows this organic plaster able to heal wound approximately 80%. As the conclusion, the Piper betle dressing plaster can healing the wound and provide comforts to the users.
