Vocabulary is a key component in mastering the four essential English skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Without a strong vocabulary foundation, students struggle to understand and use the language effectively. However, many learners find it difficult to retain new words and often lack interest in learning English. PictoQuest, a vocabulary-based language game, addresses this issue by using visual cues to support memory and word recall. This game-based approach makes learning more engaging and effective. Results from pre-vocabulary tests and post-vocabulary tests show that most students improved their vocabulary skills after using PictoQuest, demonstrating its positive impact on language learning.
