Flooding is a recurring natural hazard in many regions of Malaysia, especially in Selangor where intense monsoon rainfall frequently leads to sudden water level rises. Communities often receive warnings too late, causing property damage, traffic disruption, and safety risks. The Smart Flood Alert System is proposed to detect rising water levels in real time using sensors and microcontrollers. The system automatically sends early warnings to residents and authorities through mobile notifications or alarms. This innovation aims to improve disaster preparedness, reduce flood damage, and support faster evacuation decisions in vulnerable communities during heavy rainfall events and extreme weather conditions overall.
