This innovation project involves the creation of a web-based Geographical Information System (GIS) for tree inventory mapping and carbon estimation visualisation. Trees give several environmental advantages to Malaysia, with a particular focus on the quantity of carbon storage and sequestration by urban trees and how a simple approach can be used to estimate such quantities. This study used GIS approach to create a Pelthoporum pterocarpum species inventory database and visualize the data in a two-dimensional map of the tree trail alongside UiTM Perak green campus. The creation of this web-based GIS for tree mapping will transform the way people engage with and learn about important trees.
