Construction accidents are prevalent in Malaysia, exacerbated by factors like communication breakdowns, safety gear non-compliance, and delays in medical treatment. To address these issues, this project introduces IoT Smart Construction Helmet to enhance worksite safety. The objective is to equip helmets with sensors to detect hazards and emergencies, thereby reducing injuries and improving safety awareness. Using ESP32 technology, ordinary helmets are transformed into smart helmets integrated with gas, temperature, and light sensors. The experiment involved testing these helmets in simulated construction environments, where sensors monitored environmental conditions and transmitted real-time signals to supervisors. Results show that the smart helmets significantly improved communication, reduced response times to emergencies, and enhanced overall worksite safety. This project's significance lies in its potential to reduce construction-related injuries, prevent minor incidents from escalating, and foster a culture of safety awareness among workers, ultimately saving lives.
