Plastic utensils are one of the solid waste that is disposed of in large numbers and it causes severe environmental pollution. In order to tackle this issue, many researchers around the world have came up with an alternative solution, popularly known as edible cutleries. Although there are different types of edible cutleries around us, none of them is made from fruit peels, fruit seeds and kitchen waste which have various nutrients. Tons of kitchen wastes are produced daily and when kitchen waste gets to the landfills, the massive layers of organic waste decompose and produce greenhouse gases (GHG) such as Methane that is 21 times more potent than carbon dioxide as a heat-trapping gas. There are various smart ways to recycle fruit peels and seeds in order to save nature. This inspired the production of fruity spoons using lemon peels, banana peels, mango peels, pomegranate peels and orange peels that contain various nutritious values and colours that are derived from vegetable and fruits. The procedure of making a fruity spoon consists of 3 stages, namely the method of preparing dried peels and seeds, the method of extracting natural food colour for making fruity spoon, and examining fruity spoon. Absorption capacity, strength and shelf life of the spoon was studied. The nutritious value of the fruity spoon was studied. Based on nutritious studies, the fruity spoon is gluten free, no-trans fat, dairy free and contains fiber and vitamins. The microbial test proved that fruity spoon is safe to eat. This fruity spoon is eco-friendly, comes with different flavour, does not easily break and has a longer life span since the product is with lack of water, fat and moist. The fruity spoon is user friendly as it is easy to use and convenient for users.
