In ESL classrooms, speaking skills often pose a significant challenge for learners. Despite their proficiency in reading and writing, many students struggle to confidently express themselves orally. This difficulty stems from various factors, including fear of making mistakes, limited opportunities for practice, and a lack of confidence in their speaking abilities. Additionally, traditional teaching methods often prioritise passive learning over active communication, further exacerbating the issue. Thus, the ‘Triangle Picture Clue’ is created to assist learners especially ESL primary learners in the speaking skills classroom. The innovation is a teaching aid that can be used by the educators during the teaching and learning session. This triangle-shaped innovation attempts to solve the speaking problem and boost student engagement in the classroom by providing a variety of picture sets that can be linked with the syllabus. Using Triangle Picture Clue to teach creating sentences has various advantages, including the use of visual representations to provide a clear and concrete approach to convey the topic, making it easier for learners to understand and master sentence patterns. Visual learners who struggle with text-based education can participate and be motivated by learning activities, making the process more pleasurable and successful. Triangle Picture Clue are designed to be interchangeable, allowing teachers to tailor their teaching to various topics and student needs.
