The Malaysian education sector is facing a growing challenge, with the Ministry of Education
reporting that more than 400,000 primary and secondary school students are experiencing
learning difficulties. These challenges are often linked to low learning engagement, weak
conceptual understanding, reduced concentration, and limited personalised support in
conventional learning environments. While schools remain central to student development,
teachers may be constrained by syllabus requirements, class size, time limitations, and
limited access to interactive learning tools. Tuition centres have the potential to provide more
flexible and engaging learning support, but many still rely on traditional approaches that
focus heavily on examination preparation, repetitive practice, and memorisation. To address
this gap, Acheivo Tutor was developed by a group of Bachelor of Accounting (Information
Systems) students at Universiti Utara Malaysia as an innovative tuition management system
that combines operational efficiency with digital learning enhancement. The system supports
core tuition centre operations such as student registration, tuition fee management, attendance
tracking, and student performance monitoring. Beyond administration, Acheivo Tutor
integrates game-based learning features, including level-by-level challenges aligned with
Bloom’s Taxonomy, class-based quiz competitions, peer battles, virtual focus rooms, reward
systems, learning analytics, and performance insights. Through these features, Acheivo Tutor
transforms tuition from a traditional exam-focused approach into a more interactive,
personalised, and student-centred learning experience. The system improves student
engagement and learning consistency, enables educators to monitor progress and provide
timely interventions, strengthens tuition centre efficiency and student retention, and gives
parents better visibility into their children’s academic development. Overall, Acheivo Tutor
provides a practical, scalable digital solution for modern tuition centres looking to improve
learning outcomes and management effectiveness.
