In 2023, our country was shaken by several news of the deaths stories of babies who were left in the car without their parents realizing it. According to Berita Harian (20 November 2023), one of the reasons why this happened is due to a change in travel routine or tasks in the morning. If the mind is not focused on the child being sent or the child is not in an easily visible space, then a person's cognitive failure can occur and cause the individual to forget. Thus, to avoid the same incident from happening again, researchers have produced a “Baby Carseat Detector (BCD)” design model. BCD is an alarm system that can be used by parents to ensure that their children are not left behind in the car, especially working mothers. This BCD design is made using Detector Circuit Components which consist of several main materials, namely sensors, relays, batteries, and wires. This BCD design is also equipped with a sound device (a buzzer). Furthermore, this BCD is suitable for all parents because of its very affordable price.
