JS1096: Velocity Glider 2.0

Myra Athena Sivanesan Mahsa International School

“Velocity Glider 2.0” is an eco-friendly innovation designed by Myra Athena to help clean rivers, coastal villages, and jetty areas by collecting floating plastic waste before it reaches the ocean. Inspired by her holiday visits to Semporna, Sabah, where she witnessed marine pollution affecting local communities and sea life. this invention aims to protect marine ecosystems while supporting sustainability. Collected plastic waste can be recycled and sold, helping locals generate additional income and promote environmental awareness. This project supports United Nations SDG 14: Life Below Water, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.
