EZ Clean Cage is a novel solution to enhance the hygiene and convenience of sick and injured cats under treatment through the integration of a cleaning system within a cat cage. At Bustana Kucing, the sick and injured cats are treated in the Sick and Injured Ward and placed in a cage without being mixed with other cats. Due to their weak state, these sick and injured cats will usually defecate and urinate in the cage. Traditional cat cages often necessitate manual cleaning procedures, including transferring the cat into another empty cage, taking out the dirty cage from the rack, and transferring it to the ditch for cleaning with water spray. After that, the cage is brought back into the ward and rearranges to its original place before placing the sick cat back into the cage. This entire process faces challenges in terms of being too time-consuming, non-ergonomic, and repetitive work steps. EZ Clean cage simplifies the cleaning process of faeces and urine without requiring much energy by isolating the cat in a special space within the cage while the cleaning process is carried out. Moreover, this product eliminates the need to move the cage out of the ward as the cage can be cleaned inside the ward with the help of the integrated cleaning system. EZ Clean Cage successfully reduced the cleaning time to just 60 seconds as compared to 240 seconds by the old procedure, a four-time improvement or 400% increase in efficiency. The ergonomic REBA analysis on the cleaning steps by EZ Clean Cage shows a reduction from higher risk (7) to lower risk (2) when compared to the old procedure.
