Human-wildlife conflict has become a growing concern, particularly with monkeys causing disturbances in public areas. At Kolej Profesional MARA Seri Iskandar (KPMSI), two significant cases have highlighted the severity of this issue: one student suffered scratches while protecting their belongings, and another required hospital treatment after a severe attack. These incidents emphasize the need for an immediate, safe, and effective solution. This project introduces a biodegradable anti-monkey repellent utilizing natural ingredients, including food waste, shrimp paste, MSG, brown sugar and yeast. Strong odors, especially from shrimp paste, are proven to repel monkeys, making it a vital component of the formula. The repellent is produced through a fermentation process, resulting in a sprayable solution designed for application in monkey-prone areas. By repurposing organic waste, this innovation not only addresses the safety concerns of students, staff, and the community but also promotes sustainability by reducing food waste. The proposed solution is affordable, eco-friendly, and highly effective in minimizing human-monkey interactions. This project highlights the potential of organic waste to solve pressing human-wildlife conflicts while encouraging environmentally conscious practices within the community.
