The growing environmental concerns and the need for sustainable practices have led to innovative solutions in various domains, including candle making. This study explores the development of eco-friendly candles made from used cooking oil, with fruit waste as a natural fragrance, and utilizing coconut shells and bamboo as containers. This approach not only provides a sustainable method to repurpose waste materials but also introduces a natural and biodegradable alternative to conventional candles. The production process involves the collection and purification of used cooking oil, which serves as the primary fuel for the candles. The oil is filtered to remove food particles and then refined to eliminate any unpleasant odors. Fruit waste, specifically peels and cores, is processed to extract essential oils and natural scents. These organic fragrances are infused into the purified cooking oil, offering a diverse range of pleasant aromas while reducing the reliance on synthetic fragrances that often contain harmful chemicals.Coconut shells and bamboo are selected as containers due to their natural abundance, biodegradability, and aesthetic appeal. The shells are cleaned, polished, and prepared to hold the wax mixture, while bamboo sections are cut and treated to create rustic and sustainable candle holders. These materials not only enhance the visual appeal of the candles but also align with the principles of environmental sustainability. The final product is a line of eco-friendly candles that exemplify the principles of upcycling and waste minimization. The candles burn cleanly and emit natural fragrances, contributing to a healthier indoor environment. This innovative approach demonstrates a practical application of waste materials, promoting environmental consciousness and offering a sustainable alternative to traditional paraffin candles. The study underscores the potential for combining waste management and product design to create environmentally friendly.
