ST1290: The Development Of Automated Solar Drain Cleaning System

Nuh Hambali Politeknik Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah

The development of the automated solar drain cleaning system represents a major leap forward from its predecessor, the Water Trash Collector project, focused on improving environment impact and public health hazard. By integrating compact IoT systems, sensor, and solar power, this system operates with higher efficiency and enable electricity savings. Its main function is activated only when detecting considerable number of waste/debris effectively minimizing unnecessary energy consumption. This project aims to improve public safety through an effective drain cleaning system. This methodology includes sensor integration, seamless IoT connectivity, clean energy through solar power, rigorous testing and strategic deployment. Operating seamlessly with ultrasonic sensor, the system will move the conveyer when detecting waste/debris, making cleaning drain less time consuming and minimum labour needed for the work.  Real-time monitoring facilitated by IoT systems enables remote management and timely intervention. In particular, automated solar drain cleaning system save energy by deactivating during periods of inactivity, ensuring optimal power consumption. Through careful adherence to this methodology and precise implementation of programming, Automated Solar Drain Cleaning System emerges as an advanced safety solution, while simultaneously reducing the risk of flash flood and water related diseases.
