This project aims to facilitate the understanding of matriculation college students about the concept of DNA replication. DNA replication is a subtopic under topic ‘Expression of Biological Information’. Students are unable to grasp the concept of DNA replication due to its complexity that require students to visualize how the anti-parallel strands of DNA are replicated in bidirectional way. Additionally, a number of proteins and enzymes involved in the process cause students to become perplexed about how the enzymes work. In other words, DNA replication process is microscopic, abstract and include many scientific terms. The idea of this innovation is to use wooden clip as interactive model to visualize DNA replication process by using visual and kinaesthetic technique. The objectives of this project are to help students to understand the structure of DNA and DNA replication process and also to promote active and collaborative learning. Besides that, lecturers and teachers can use this project as a teaching tool. The DNA RepCLIP is incredibly interactive, easy to use, has easily accessible materials, can be used repeatedly in different classroom and is appropriate for a variety of learning styles such as visual, kinaesthetic and collaborative.
