BinMate Rover is an intelligent robotic waste bin designed to improve hygiene, accessibility, and independent living, with the primary aim of assisting individuals with mobility disabilities. Using an ultrasonic sensor, it detects objects within 10–30 cm, follows the user, and opens automatically for hands-free disposal. Proper waste handling is essential for infection prevention, as contaminated surfaces can transmit disease (Department of Health Victoria, 2023), while assistive technologies help improve independence and quality of life for persons with disabilities (World Health Organization, 2022). Therefore, BinMate Rover offers a practical and inclusive solution that supports safer, easier, and more dignified daily waste management.
