This study aims to create and develop an eco-friendly mosquito repellent cream that is free from chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), substances known to deplete the ozone layer. Conventional insect repellents often contain CFCs, which in turn negatively impact the ozone balance, contribute to global warming, and the increase of harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation. The innovative mosquito repellent cream uses natural ingredients such as mint leaves, citronella, and rosemary, all of which are known for their insect-repellent properties. The production process involves extracting essential oils from these plants, which are then mixed with a cream base to create a homogeneous formula. Effectiveness testing of the cream is conducted by applying it to the skin exposed to mosquito environment as a controlled testing environment. The results indicate that the cream is effective in reducing mosquito bites, with no bites recorded on areas of the skin where the cream was applied. This cream not only provide effective protection but also aligns with the environmental conservation efforts, making it a safer and more eco-friendly alternative to conventional products. In conclusion, the mosquito repellent cream based on mint leaves, citronella, and rosemary contributes to climate action in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13.
