This research aims to explore the effectiveness of "MyLexisPal," a personalized dictionary tool, in enhancing vocabulary acquisition and usage among secondary school students. The study employed a qualitative method, utilizing teacher observations and student discourse analysis to gather data. Over a period of 12 weeks, "MyLexisPal" was integrated into the classroom activities of secondary school students to assess its impact on their vocabulary development. The study showed significant improvement in students' vocabulary acquisition and usage. Teachers observed that students were more engaged and proactive in learning new words, often using "MyLexisPal" to explore and understand terms in context. Analysis of student discourse revealed a notable increase in the variety and complexity of vocabulary used, indicating a deeper understanding and retention of new words. The research findings suggest that "MyLexisPal" is an effective tool for enhancing vocabulary acquisition in secondary education (Brown, 2007; Nation, 2001; Schmitt, 2010; Graham & Perin, 2019; Smith & Jones, 2023). It not only aids in learning new words but also encourages students to actively engage with language, leading to improved language skills overall. The study highlights the potential of personalized learning tools in supporting educational outcomes.
