Communication skills are essential for students to become productive members of society, and role-playing is a key learning strategy (Fawzi & Dodi, 2022). Defined as experiential learning where students perform allocated roles (Russell & Shepherd, 2010), role-playing significantly enhances language development through active engagement and social interaction (Hamzah et al., 2023). It boosts confidence, expressiveness, and listening skills (Andresen, 2005; Altun, 2019). Despite its benefits, students often face anxiety in role-play assessments (Chen, 2003; Jackson, 2002). The Role Play Noticing Inventory, grounded in Schmidt’s Noticing Hypothesis, fosters active participation and systematic assistance, improving language acquisition by emphasizing conscious awareness of language input (Ishak & Aziz, 2022; Ellis, 2001).
