This study aimed to overcome students’ difficulties in multiplication and division by introducing the staircase-based MD Lego method, which supports both operations. It was implemented with 12 students using Bruner’s three learning stages: concrete, semi-concrete, and abstract. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests, interviews, observations, and worksheet analysis, then analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. Results showed significant improvement in students’ understanding of algorithms and concepts, as well as their ability to relate multiplication and division. The method also enhanced students’ problem-solving skills and motivation, proving to be an effective and engaging approach to teaching these mathematical operations.
