One in 12 men are colourblind, which can affect their ability to perceive colours. In the industrial sector, colourblind professionals may face difficulties in their jobs. DEKWIP is a device designed to assist colourblind electricians in identifying wire colours accurately. A microcontroller, colour sensor, and LED screen make up the device, which uses a formula to identify colours and send output signals. In a test with 20 colourblind students, 100% of respondents could identify wire colours correctly after using DEKWIP. The device aims to improve job marketability and safety for colourblind electricians while promoting inclusivity.
