Food waste accounts for one-third of all human-caused greenhouse gas emissions and generates 8% of greenhouse gasses annually. Humans also generate fruit waste in the range of 25 to 57 million tons per year. Given these statistics, there is a pressing need to reduce this environmental footprint. In response, we developed a bio-based cleaning product, FruitPure: A Green Solution for Fruit Waste, to offer global consumers an effective, affordable and eco-friendly option. FruitPure is made from simple materials including pineapple, pineapple peels, banana peels, mango peels, sugar, sodium hydroxide pellets, used oil and yeast. Soap and liquid cleaning products are formed in our experiment. FruitPure is positioned to meet the demand for sustainable products at an accessible price point, RM5 every 200g for solid soap and RM5 for every 200 ml of liquid soap, which outshines it from competitors.
