The SafeRider Alert System aims to prevent child deaths caused by being left unattended in vehicles, leading to heatstroke, dehydration, and carbon monoxide poisoning. It integrates infrared, motion, sound, and carbon monoxide sensors to detect a child’s presence and sends alerts via Telegram and a car buzzer based on various risk factors. Simulated testing showed 92% effectiveness in preventing Forgotten Baby Syndrome (FBS) incidents, with 78.4% of respondents favoring the SOS manual alert button. The system aligns with SDG 3, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, and Malaysia’s Child Act 2001, emphasizing child safety and protection.
