Black ginger (Kaempferia parviflora) is a herbaceous plant indigenous to Thailand that offers a variety of health benefits due to its nutritional profile. Black ginger is prominent among locals due to its essential nutrients and a range of antioxidants as substantiated by this research finding. In this research, pure oil of black ginger was successfully extracted from its plant through solid-liquid extraction. Black ginger oil was further analysed using Attenuated Total Reflectance Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR) for identification of compounds and the spectrum showed the presence of O-H (3677.0 cm-1), C-H (3015.4 cm-1), C=O (1709.0 cm-1), C=C (1627.0 cm-1) and C-O (1263.6 cm-1). This result indicated the existence of antioxidant compounds tannins and phenolic that holds the promise of imparting health benefits. Black ginger has also been confirmed through Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis. The result illustrates the mass spectrum, confirming the presence of 4H-1Benzopyran-4-one, 3,5,7-trimethoxy-2-phenyl- with a molecular ion [M+] at m/z 311. This observation is consistent with the mass spectrometric properties of the genuine standard thereby strengthening the reliability of the analytical findings. Bar soap may seem self-cleaning but it can still harbor bacteria. This can lead to potential infection as the soap often does not dry completely between uses especially at the bottom, allowing bacteria and fungi to accumulate and potentially transfer between users. While liquid soap is often recommended over bar soap, it can create problems during travel such as leaking due to pressure changes during flights. Thus, using single-use solid soap can solve both issues by eliminating the transmission of disease-causing bacteria and avoiding leak in bags. Keywords: Tannins, single-use soap, black ginger
