ST1028: Revolutionary Anti Microwave Radiation Eco-Friendly Cement Blocks

Shafaq Mardhiyana Binti Mohamat Kasim Universiti Teknologi MARA, Cawangan Pulau Pinang

This study develops advanced eco-friendly cement blocks with granular activated carbon (GAC) composite coconut shell for superior microwave radiation reduction. Using coconut shells, an agricultural waste, in building materials provides a sustainable solution to reduce microwave radiation, addressing environmental and health concerns. Wedge-shaped GAC composite coconut shell designs were integrated into cement blocks, and their microwave absorption properties were investigated. Results show significant improvement in microwave absorption. The study analyzed dielectric properties, absorption efficiency, and structural integrity, confirming feasibility for practical use. This eco-innovative method offers a cost-effective, sustainable alternative to conventional microwave absorbers for various applications.
