Projek ROI BUDDY dibangunkan bagi membantu murid sekolah menengah memahami dan mengira kadar pelaburan dengan lebih mudah dan berkesan. Topik kadar pelaburan dan faedah dalam subjek Matematik Tingkatan 3 sering menjadi cabaran kepada murid sehingga menjejaskan pencapaian mereka dalam peperiksaan. Oleh itu, ROI BUDDY diperkenalkan sebagai bahan bantu pembelajaran yang mengintegrasikan elemen gamifikasi bagi mewujudkan suasana pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif, menarik dan menyeronokkan. Inovasi ini membantu murid menguasai formula serta langkah pengiraan dengan lebih cepat dan sistematik di samping meningkatkan minat, motivasi dan penglibatan aktif mereka dalam pembelajaran Matematik. Pendekatan pembelajaran berasaskan permainan ini turut membantu murid memahami konsep pelaburan dengan lebih jelas melalui aktiviti pembelajaran yang berpusatkan murid. Hasil pelaksanaan inovasi menunjukkan peningkatan dalam kefahaman murid terhadap topik kadar pelaburan dan faedah, di samping meningkatkan keyakinan mereka dalam menyelesaikan soalan Matematik. Kesimpulannya, ROI BUDDY berpotensi menjadi alat bantu mengajar yang efektif, interaktif dan inovatif dalam meningkatkan kualiti pembelajaran Matematik di sekolah.

 

The ROI BUDDY project was developed to help secondary school students understand and calculate investment rates more easily and effectively. The topic of investment rates and interest in the Form 3 Mathematics subject is often challenging for students and may negatively affect their performance in examinations. Therefore, ROI BUDDY was introduced as a learning aid that integrates gamification elements to create a more interactive, engaging, and enjoyable learning environment. This innovation helps students master formulas and calculation procedures more quickly and systematically while increasing their interest, motivation, and active participation in Mathematics learning. The game-based learning approach also enables students to understand investment concepts more clearly through student-centered learning activities. The implementation of this innovation showed improvements in students’ understanding of investment rate and interest topics, while also increasing their confidence in solving Mathematics problems. In conclusion, ROI BUDDY has the potential to serve as an effective, interactive, and innovative teaching aid in enhancing the quality of Mathematics learning in schools.
