Pesticides, including herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides, are widely used in agriculture and households but can contaminate the environment and harm non-target organisms. They pose health risks to humans through ingestion, inhalation, and skin contact, causing symptoms like headaches and respiratory issues. This study aims to develop an alternative: an organic pest repellent spray (SOPES) made from peppermint, lemongrass, chilies, and citrus peel. Tests showed that SOPES killed ants immediately and prevented their return for up to five days. SOPES is highly effective, and future developments will focus on cream and patch forms for use in restaurants, healthcare facilities, and outdoor settings.
