Significant focus and efforts are being expanded in corrosion control at the design stage and in the operational phase, including in corrosion monitoring. Waste from kitchen has the potential to be an ecological corrosion inhibitor on AISI 1020 carbon steel in a 1 M hydrochloric acid medium. Different percentages of waste concentration were tested on AISI 1020 in an acidic environment through weight loss testing for the duration of 7 and 14 days. An increase in concentration improved the corrosion resistance of the AISI 1020 carbon steel through the increment of the inhibiting efficiency. In conclusion, it is effective natural corrosion inhibitor that protects the metal surface, thus reduces the corrosion occurrence of AISI 1020 steel.
