Around the globe, kitchens produce a commonly overlooked by-product: used cooking oil. While it serves its culinary role, it often meets an ignominious fate down the drain. Improper disposal of used cooking oil presents significant environmental challenges, causing blockages and overflows in sewage systems, leading to infrastructure damage and water contamination. It also contributes to fatbergs—congealed masses of grease and non-biodegradable materials—worsening urban sanitation issues. This innovation introduces a filtering sink concept to address these challenges. The sink facilitates easy collection of used cooking oil and filters kitchen water, reducing pollution and promoting sustainable water usage.
