With the growing demand for space-saving and ergonomic furniture in increasingly compact urban living environments, this project proposes a multifunctional lift-top coffee table designed to transform into a productive and comfortable workstation. Many urban dwellers, especially students and young professionals, often work from beds or dining tables, leading to physical discomfort and poor posture. This research-based design integrates modular features, smart storage, foldability, and eco-friendly materials to support diverse daily activities such as working, studying, and relaxing within small spaces. A comprehensive market survey, line-up study of 50 existing lift-top coffee tables, and user behavior analysis were conducted to understand current trends and user preferences. A functional mock-up has been developed, reflecting Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 2, where the concept has been simulated the environment. The product is well-suited for compact apartments, student lounges, co-living spaces, and office lounges. It aims to improve posture, enhance spatial efficiency, and promote sustainable, adaptable living.
