The Simple Integrated Hazard Risk Assessment (SiHRA) Tool is a groundbreaking innovation aimed at transforming occupational safety practices in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) through a smart, user-friendly risk assessment approach. Developed to address the challenges faced by resource-constrained industries, SiHRA simplifies the process of hazard identification, risk evaluation, and control measure recommendation using a structured and accessible format. This tool empowers both employers and employees to collaboratively assess workplace risks, thereby promoting a culture of shared safety responsibility. SiHRA is specifically aligned with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994 and its year 2022 amendments, ensuring relevance and compliance with national regulatory standards. Field tests conducted across selected SME sectors have demonstrated SiHRA’s effectiveness in increasing hazard awareness, improving proactive safety measures, and enhancing overall workplace safety culture. By reducing complexity and encouraging broader participation, SiHRA bridges the knowledge gap typically found in SMEs and fosters a preventive mindset. As a scalable and practical solution, the SiHRA Tool plays a vital role in supporting safer, healthier, and more productive working environments. It represents a key step forward in innovation for occupational safety, enabling SMEs to transition from reactive compliance to proactive risk management with confidence and ease.
