Lead-based radiation shielding glasses are toxic, prompting the need for eco-friendly alternatives.  This study explores cerium bismuth borotellurite glass with optimized Bi2O3 content. The addition of Bi2O3 significantly improves the glass’s density and radiation shielding properties, as evaluated using Phy-X software. Among the investigated compositions, CeBi25, containing 25 mol% Bi2O3, demonstrates the best overall performance with a high density of 6.237g/cm3. Additionally, the mass attenuation coefficient (MAC) values suggest CeBi25 outperforms commercially available radiation shielding glasses, including those containing lead. These findings highlight cerium bismuth borotellurite glass as a promising lead-free material.
