ST1750: DEVELOPMENT OF AQUASENSE: A WIRELESS IOT-BASED MULTI-SENSOR SYSTEM FOR REAL-TIME SWIMMING POOL WATER QUALITY MONITORING

To Cheng Lai Politeknik Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah

Maintaining optimal water quality in swimming pools is essential for ensuring health, safety, and convenience. This study presents the development of a wireless multi-sensor system for real-time monitoring of swimming pool water quality. The system integrates pH, turbidity, temperature, and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) sensors with an ESP8266 microcontroller and Wi-Fi module to continuously collect and analyze water quality parameters. Sensor readings are processed and transmitted wirelessly to a cloud-based database, where the data is visualized using Google Sheets and Blynk applications for intuitive monitoring. The monitoring system enables remote supervision of water cleanliness and chemical balance, helping prevent waterborne diseases and equipment corrosion. Sensor observations are transmitted via a Wi-Fi network to an on-site access point, ensuring real-time updates. The acquired data is further stored in cloud-based platforms, allowing users to track historical trends and receive automated alerts when water conditions deviate from safe standards. The system demonstrates high accuracy, reliability, and real-time response efficiency through pre-calibration, continuous measurement, and post-calibration verification. The results validate the feasibility of IoT-based swimming pool monitoring in maintaining safe and hygienic water conditions while reducing the dependency on manual testing. The proposed system offers a cost-effective, scalable, and user-friendly solution for modern pool management, benefiting residential and commercial swimming facilities.
