Cockroaches are not only unpleasant to see but also pose serious health risks by spreading germs, bacteria, and allergens that can lead to diseases such as food poisoning and asthma. Their presence compromises the cleanliness and safety of our homes, especially in areas where food is prepared and stored.
While many households rely on chemical sprays to get rid of cockroaches, these products often contain toxic substances that can harm humans, pets, and the environment. Prolonged exposure to these chemicals may lead to respiratory issues, skin irritation, and other health problems.
This project supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being, by promoting a safe, eco-friendly alternative to conventional pest control. Our aim is to create a simple, effective, and natural cockroach-repelling spray using ingredients that are commonly found in kitchens—such as vinegar, essential oils, and citrus peels.
The spray will be easy to make, cost-effective, and safe enough for children to be involved in the preparation process. By encouraging the use of natural solutions, we hope to raise awareness about healthier living practices and reduce the use of harmful chemicals in everyday life.
Together, we can take small but impactful steps toward a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable home environment.
