ABSTRACT

This study investigates the impact of Six Bricks, a play-based, hands-on tool developed by the
LEGO Foundation, on holistic child development in early childhood education. The research
aimed to explore how integrating Six Bricks activities supports cognitive, physical, emotional,
and social outcomes among kindergarten learners. A mixed-methods approach was
employed, involving classroom observations, teacher interviews, and pre-post intervention
assessments with preschool students who engaged in structured Six Bricks sessions over a
three-month period. Findings reveal that children demonstrated significant improvements in
executive function, fine and gross motor skills, collaboration, problem-solving, and readiness
for formal schooling. Teachers reported that the activities promoted engagement, active
participation, and a child-cantered learning environment. Moreover, Six Bricks facilitated
curriculum planning and assessment while fostering early literacy, numeracy, scientific inquiry,
and social-emotional competencies. The study highlights Six Bricks as a powerful pedagogical
innovation that promotes 21st-century skills and lifelong learning habits through experiential
and movement-based learning in diverse classroom contexts.
