Worker safety and health in small, micro, and medium-sized industries often receive less attention compared to larger industries. Understanding occupational environmental stress is critical for maintaining optimal safety and well-being. The recent amendment to the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (Act 514) by DOSH, Malaysia, underscores the need for workplace risk assessments to prevent adverse effects. The WorkEase Assessment App is designed to address this need. It calculates and evaluates the Occupational Environmental Stress Assessment (OESA) Index, offering a user-friendly digital tool for seamless risk assessment on mobile phones and desktops. Successfully tested in the small welding industry, the app is ready for implementation across small, micro, and medium-sized industries. The app allows these sectors to monitor and track their workers' OESA Index, providing essential documentation for future reference in case of workplace incidents. To enhance reliability and usability, a real-time monitoring device is planned to integrate with the app in the future. This innovative approach empowers employers to improve the workplace environment and ensure workers' safety proactively.
