This study investigates the effectiveness of using graphic novels to improve comprehension skills in understanding Samuel Pepys's diary entries among 78 primary school pupils in rural Selangor, Malaysia. Employing mixed methods, including pre- and post-intervention assessments and student feedback, findings suggest significant enhancement in comprehension. This research contributes to literature on innovative teaching methods in rural education and underscores the potential of graphic novels to foster reading comprehension skills among young learners.
