Lead poses harmful effect to human and environment. However, current radiation shielding glass are incorporated with lead due to high density. High density material is needed in radiation because it makes a material to have higher probability of interacting with dangerous rays such as gamma rays. Therefore, bismuth borotellurite glass doped with thulium oxide was fabricated using melt and quench technique. Results showed that glass with 25% of bismuth oxide had the highest density. Significantly, linear attenuation coefficient which is the intensity of radiation removed per unit thickness is of prepared glass is higher than industrial glass from Schott.
