Abstract – Heattech Inner Scarf
Cold weather travel can be particularly challenging for Muslim women, especially those who are sensitive to low temperatures or cannot tolerate staying in cold environments for long periods. Traditional hijabs often lack thermal insulation and become uncomfortable when damp from sweat or rain, potentially leading to discomfort or even health issues like headaches and chills. The Heattech Inner Scarf was developed to address these challenges offering a smart, modest and practical solution tailored for Muslim women travelers. Engineered with advanced Heattech fabric, the inner scarf retains body warmth while maintaining breathability made from a stretchable blend of polyester, rayon and acrylic, and it’s soft on the skin, lightweight and user-friendly. They are perfect for layering under regular headscarves without adding bulk. Its snug design provides secure coverage of the head and neck, delivering consistent warmth and comfort in cold climates. A user trial involving seven Muslim women travelers was conducted to evaluate the prototype. The participants, including those who struggle with cold sensitivity, reported that the product provided much needed thermal comfort and ease of use during travel. Their feedback was instrumental in shaping the final design to ensure it meets the practical and cultural needs of Muslim women on the go. The Heattech Inner Scarf merges fashion, function and faith-based values. It represents a timely innovation for the growing modest fashion and travel accessory markets, empowering Muslim women travelers to explore colder destinations with greater confidence and comfort.
