“Solar System CA3” is an educational Roblox game developed based on the Solar System topic in Module 10: The World Around Us in the Year 3 English textbook, Get Smart Plus 3. This game-based learning approach aims to promote active participation, critical thinking, and motivation in learning and create an interactive and enjoyable learning experience about the Solar System in English for Year 3 primary ESL pupils. The game combines entertainment and education through two main sections: a Solar System gallery and an obby quiz challenge. The Solar System gallery allows pupils to explore the Sun and planets through 3D models that showcase their positions and unique characteristics. This feature helps pupils gain basic knowledge and visual understanding of the Sun and planets in an engaging virtual environment. The obby quiz challenge allows pupils to test and reinforce their understanding through interactive challenges and questions related to the Sun and planets, such as comparisons of size, temperature, and distance. This feature encourages pupils to apply the knowledge gained from the gallery section. In addition, the game incorporates various Malaysian elements, such as local buildings, transportation, and flags, to create a familiar and culturally relevant environment for pupils. This inclusion of the Malaysian context enhances pupils’ sense of connection and engagement with the learning experience. Overall, this educational Roblox game demonstrates the potential of game-based learning in making interdisciplinary education between English and Science more interactive, meaningful, and enjoyable for young learners while integrating local cultural identity into virtual learning spaces.
