Efficient wood core extraction is essential for forestry research, environmental monitoring, and sustainable resource management. Traditional incremental borers, while widely used, require significant manual effort and are often inefficient for hardwood species. This innovation presents an Optimized Chuck Design that enhances the functionality of a power drill borer, enabling high-efficiency wood core extraction with minimal labor. By redesigning a chuck using a modified box spanner, this innovation allows seamless and rapid core sampling in the field. The modified chuck, when paired with a high-torque impact wrench, ensures greater precision, cost-effectiveness, and user ergonomics compared to conventional methods. This solution not only improves research efficiency but also offers strong commercialization potential due to its affordability and adaptability. With its ability to facilitate non-destructive and scalable wood density sampling, this innovation stands as a game-changer for forestry professionals, conservationists, and researchers worldwide.
