The growing demand for sustainable and eco-friendly materials has sparked innovation in repurposing agricultural waste for industrial use. This project explores the development of an eco-friendly face mask crafted from banana stem fibers infused with oregano. Banana stems, which are rich in cellulose and typically discarded, present a biodegradable and compostable alternative to traditional paper-based products. The incorporation of oregano not only enhances the antimicrobial properties of the mask but also contributes to its biodegradability. This novel approach minimizes environmental pollution, reduces agricultural waste, and supports the local economy by creating new revenue streams for banana-growing regions. Through a sustainable production process involving minimal chemical use, this innovation offers a green solution to disposable face masks, promoting both environmental conservation and public health.
