Students face a wide range of problems in studying the field of Chemistry. The complexity and wide range of processes, compounds and their reagents studied in Organic Chemistry have made it unbearable to students. Students faced similar difficulties whilst studying Organic Chemistry. The only solution deemed useful was using flashcards, which are known to be boring and repetitive. Therefore, a solution was provided to memorise and differentiate the processes, reagents, and products of reactions in Organic Chemistry by creating this project. ‘ChemCards: Organic Chemistry’ as Teaching Aids serve as a pioneer in helping students improve their understanding of Organic Chemistry simultaneously aiding lecturers in teaching the subject. ChemCards serve as a vessel for students to strengthen their skills at identifying organic compounds. ChemCards consists of a deck of cards which consists of different reactants (example; benzaldehyde, ethanoic acid and haloalkane). They work by playing different reactants to form a specific product, training the players ability to remember processes in synthesising products. Additional situation cards known as ‘Lab Accidents’ make the game more interactive. We took into mind the cost of producing this product, as education comes first, we made it our goal to make this product accessible to anyone therefore, ChemCards is an open-sourced learning material. ChemCards are versatile and can fit into any classroom studying the wide range of Organic Chemistry. Hopefully, with the introduction of ChemCards, students and lecturers will not face anymore problems when it comes to enhancing understanding of Organic Chemistry.
