This project focuses on the creation of a sustainable and natural haircare solution using common kitchen waste, specifically onion and potato peels. These ingredients, often discarded during food preparation, are rich in nutrients such as sulfur, antioxidants, and vitamins that are known to promote hair growth, reduce dandruff, and strengthen hair roots. By using these peels, the project aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by encouraging the use of non-chemical, skin-safe alternatives to commercial hair products, many of which contain harsh substances that can damage the scalp and environment. The project also contributes to waste reduction and environmental sustainability, as it repurposes food waste that would otherwise contribute to landfill. The process involves collecting the peels, boiling them to extract beneficial compounds, and applying the resulting solution as a natural hair tonic. This method is not only cost-effective but also promotes eco-conscious behavior by turning waste into a valuable resource. In addition to practical haircare benefits, the project aims to raise awareness about the effectiveness of traditional and natural remedies. It empowers individuals to make healthier lifestyle choices and supports the broader movement toward green living. By merging personal care with environmental responsibility, this project presents a holistic approach to health and sustainability that can be easily adopted in everyday life.
