This project explores the concept of green building, also known as sustainable or eco-friendly building, which involves creating structures and using processes that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building’s life-cycle. The project delves into the various methodologies employed in green building, such as energy efficiency, water conservation, sustainable materials, indoor environmental quality, and site selection and development. It also discusses the numerous benefits of green buildings, including reduced greenhouse gas emissions, lower energy consumption, reduced water usage, lower operating costs, increased property values, improved occupant health and productivity, enhanced occupant comfort, improved indoor air quality, and access to natural views. The project concludes with recommendations for policymakers, architects and engineers, builders and contractors, and building owners and occupants to adopt green building practices and contribute to a more sustainable future.
