Every year, pests and diseases destroy up to 40% of global crops, threatening food security and farmers’ incomes. Our Smart Soil and Pest Monitoring System uses AI and soil sensing to detect plant problems early. A soil moisture sensor identifies risky wet or dry conditions linked to fungal infections and pest attacks. When abnormal moisture is detected, a Raspberry Pi captures leaf images and an EfficientNetB0 AI model analyses them instantly. Trained on more than 600 images across 5 categories, our best model achieved 81.68% accuracy. Farmers receive Telegram alerts within seconds, enabling faster action and reducing crop losses.
