Ecotourism has emerged as a rapidly growing industry in Malaysia, playing a crucial role in promoting environmental conservation while contributing to economic development. However, the increasing number of tourists has also raised concerns regarding environmental degradation caused by irresponsible behavior and lack of awareness.

This research explores the level of environmental awareness among tourists and examines the role of education as a key driver in promoting sustainable tourism practices. Education is identified as a powerful tool to foster environmental responsibility, encourage ethical travel behavior, and empower local communities to manage tourism sustainably.

The study also investigates the underlying factors contributing to unsustainable environmental practices, highlighting gaps in awareness and knowledge among tourists. Based on these findings, this project introduces “Eco-Guard: Mission Earth”, an interactive educational game designed to enhance environmental awareness through engaging and immersive learning.

By integrating education with interactive gameplay, this initiative aims to inspire responsible tourism behavior and support long-term environmental sustainability for future generations.
