Home security is an important concern due to the increasing risk of theft and unauthorized intrusion. This project presents the design and implementation of a Smart Theft Alert System to detect human movement near a residential area. The system aims to provide a simple, cost-effective, and reliable solution for enhancing home security. The PIR sensor detects changes in infrared radiation caused by human motion and sends a signal to a microcontroller ESP32 module when movement is detected. Upon detection, the system activates a buzzer to provide an immediate local alert and simultaneously sends a notification to the homeowner’s mobile phone through Blynk application. This dual-alert mechanism ensures that the homeowner is informed in real time, whether at home or away. The proposed system is affordable, easy to install, and suitable for residential and small commercial applications. The results demonstrate that the system effectively detects motion within its coverage area and responds promptly by triggering alerts. This project highlights the potential for developing low-cost smart security systems with future improvements such as camera integration and mobile application support.
