ST1751: PARCEL DROPBOX

This project was implemented based on monitoring of current methods of mailboxes, mail sent, and placed in mailboxes often lost and abandoned by users. This project is specially designed for the packages or the goods that are delivered to houses and it is called “Parcel Dropbox”. The objective of this project is to build a system of parcel dropbox by using a NodeMCU microcontroller and an IR obstacle sensor to detect if a parcel enters the Parcel Dropbox and then send a notification through Telegram to the user. Also, a Telegram bot was programmed to open the Parcel Dropbox's door through a Telegram command. The scope of the research that has been set for this project are condominiums, apartments, bungalows, and terrace houses. There are several solutions to this problem which are users will be alert of the presence of parcel and receives notifications to their phone. In this project, a NodeMCU microcontroller was used to make a connection between sensors. Besides, the power supply is used to supply electrical energy for the dropbox to function. Next, the IR sensor is used to detect the presence of the parcel. When a parcel is inserted into the dropbox, the sensor will detect the parcel entry. When the IR sensor detects the parcel, the servo motor will be triggered and open the floor to make the parcel go through it. At the same time, the IR sensor alerts the NodeMCU to process the data and send a notification to the user through the telegram on the user's phone. Besides that, the Parcel Dropbox comes with a solenoid lock, in which the user can open the Parcel Dropbox through telegram by using a command. As a result, the “Parcel Dropbox” is fully functioned and achieved the objectives discussed.
